Follow-up questions to Ward 3 candidates

Following the Cleveland Park Citizens Association (CPCA) April 7th Candidate Forum, CPCA asked Candidates to clarify and provide “brief” answers to some key questions important to Cleveland Park and other Ward 3 communities. Answers are posted below in PDF format.

  • What is your view of development along the Cleveland Park commercial corridors (i.e., Wisconsin and Connecticut  Avenues) and its impact on economic vitality and diversity?
  • What would you do to address housing needs in Cleveland Park to make it more affordable and accessible to families?
  • What is your view of Historic Districts and urban development in areas such as Cleveland Park?
  • In what community organizations do you participate, and what role do you think they play in your community?
  • The current redistricting process has been somewhat acrimonious resulting in two proposed maps for Ward 3—one created by the Task Force appointed by CM Cheh and the other developed in response to community concerns by the Neighborhood Voices coalition of community organizations from throughout the Ward.  What is your view of the redistricting process as it was executed in Ward 3?  Which map do you support, and why?

We received answers from five of the nine candidates. To help compare the candidates, their responses are provided in the attached PDF file. Once you open the file, you will need to enlarge the font to read the text.

There are several fine candidates for the Ward 3 Councilmember seat. Their answers will help residents make an informed decision in the upcoming primary election on June 21.
