CPCA plays an important and unique role promoting and protecting the diversity, vitality, and tree-lined historic character of our neighborhood. CPCA speaks specifically for Cleveland Park, providing us all opportunities to learn about and be heard on topics important to our neighborhood and the larger city. Last year was an extraordinary and challenging one, and this year will be as well. In 2020-2021, our community events and advocacy focused substantially on issues relating to development in the neighborhood, our business strip on Connecticut Avenue, and the pandemic.
We have several projects targeted for early 2022, including:
- Connecticut Avenue Streetscape & Traffic Pattern projects: Hearing from District Department of Transportation on what to expect during construction in 2022-2023 and what to look forward to when it’s done, and engaging DDOT on next stages of traffic pattern redesign.
- Sustainability fair: Reprising our popular event to hear from DC government programs and non-profits committed to helping us all with ways to be more sustainable such as recycling, planting native, and solar energy options.
- Connecticut Avenue Development Guidelines: Preparing for CPCA engagement with the Office of Planning regarding guidelines for any future development along this Cleveland Park business strip.
If these issues are of interest, and you’re not already a member, please join. We welcome your input on the above, and other issues to address.
Thank you for your support and Happy Holidays to all!
